Ivan Horning, a long time member of the Ephrata Church of the Brethren, will celebrate his 100th birthday on March 29th.

Ivan served in the military during WWII.  He was a radio operator in a tank communicating with other units.  When he returned home to Ephrata following the war, he and Lillian were married.  They will be married 77 years on March 18 which is also Lillian’s 99th birthday.  They have two sons, Bruce and Brian, and 3 grandchildren. Following the war, Ivan worked at RCA as a TV engineering technician working with super power tubes.

Ivan and Lillian moved from their home in Akron to Brethren Village 14 years ago.  For many years they were volunteers in the mailroom.
